NBC is having a beef contest
Well I will say that I like the interface, I think the choices are limited and it is probably pretty biased towards Al's. Thinking it is a PR stunt, since they are expanding their coverage and restaurant locations to many states...
Anyhow, my opinion is that they should have done Al's vs Portillos, since that seems like the 2 most popular choices.
I think it would have been a better battle. Both have numerous locations in and outside of Illinois. Mr Beef is a famous spot, but only one location. You are comparing corporation to corporation. I am sure there is a better beef out there than either of these two, BUT they only will have one stand, very small location, and no where near the fanbase as AL's. So to make things fair this should be Portillo's VS Al's.
It is like asking 10,000 people which they like better. McDonalds VS a bar who serves a award winning burger. One or two people may have been lucky enough to have had the great burger, but everyone has been able to try McDonalds. So McDonalds will get more votes. It is an unfair and biased survey/contest, loaded in the favor of Al's beef.
