Jeri's Grill Overview

Located at Montrose and Western, Jeri’s Grill has been “Proudly Serving the Neighborhood since 1963.” It’s everything you would expect from a greasy spoon and more. Although you won’t actually see Italian Beefs on the menu, they do serve them when ordered by name.

BerwynMuscle's Ordered:

Beef dipped with hot peppers.

BerwynMuscle's Review:

I heard that this place had great beefs and was pretty disappointed. It was more of a French dip and everything was served on the side. The first dip I made of the beef was great. The juice was really spiced up and flavorful, but each dip after kinda tasted watered down. Since the sandwich was served dry, it had a nice crunch to it, even after dipped. The peppers were generic but good. I think this would make a great "emergency beef" since it is open 24-7, but I would not go here if one of my favorite spots was open.

George may eat here again.

brontoburger's Ordered:

hot peps, dipped and with cheese. Both the peps and juice were served on the side and they only had American cheese, so I past on that.

brontoburger's Review:

This place is a full on diner not a hot dog/beef joint, but I heard from a couple people that they had great IT beef sandwiches. They serve there beefs with a cup of beef juice on the side like a French dip but it has Italian spices instead, you handle the dipping yourself. I gotta say that the bread really stole the show, as it was unlike the traditional Gonella type roll which you usually get. These rolls had a nice crunch and stood up to a good dipping. The beef was pretty good but not great, not seasoned to well and a little spare but it seemed to be decent quality. Overall I would probably get a beef here again but would not go out of my way for it. However, it is really comforting that places like this are still around.

Brontoburger may eat here again.
